About the Role
The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) is seeking a skilled and motivated maintenance professional to
join the Rolling Stock & Shops (RS&S) Department as a Transit Vehicle Mechanic (TVM). Under general supervision, the
Transit Vehicle Mechanic performs a wide range of diagnostic, repair, inspection, and preventive maintenance duties to
support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of BART’s transit vehicle fleet. This role plays a critical part in
maintaining system safety, service reliability, and operational excellence while performing additional related duties as
assigned. The most qualified candidates for this position will have highly developed competencies in the following
